ISIS woman sentenced to jail in Germany for murdering Yezidi child

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Munich-based court charged a German woman of crimes against humanity and charges of being a member of the Islamic State (ISIS).

Jennifer Wenisch, 30, and her husband bought and enslaved a Yezidi woman and her daughter in Mosul in 2015. They forced them to convert to Islam. They deprived the mother and the girl of food and water.

The Yezidi child was chained by Jennifer’s husband until she died of thirst and hunger, according to the Yezidi woman, whose name unmentioned for security reasons.

The Munich court found Wenisch guilty of “two crimes against humanity in the form of enslavement.” Wenisch was also convicted of aiding and abetting in attempted murder and of membership in a terrorist organization.

The majority of the Yezidis live in the Sinjar (Shingal) area, northern Iraq, which has been divided administratively into 13 complexes, each of which includes between 4,000 and 5,000 families. These complexes are Kocho, Sunoun, Khan Sur, Tel Aziz, Tel Banat, Tel Qasab and many other complexes, in addition to the city of Shengal (Sinjar).

In August 3, 2014, ISIS kidnapped 6,417 Yezidis, most of them were women and children, while about 360,000 fled from Sinjar.

According to the latest statistics published by the Yezidi Rescue Office, based in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the number of the displaced Yezidis as a result of the ISIS attack has reached about 360,000, of whom 150,000 and have returned to Sinjar.
