Syria foils major drug shipment bound for Jordan
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Anti-Narcotics Administration said on Monday it had foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of drugs to Jordan using “guided balloons” in Suwayda governorate.
The administration said the operation resulted in the seizure of 44 kilograms of hashish, 218,000 Captagon pills and GPS devices.
The operation was carried out on Aug. 29 in the eastern countryside of Suwayda, according to the administration.
It said the shipment was intended for international trafficking toward Jordan.
