Syrian, Egyptian foreign ministers discuss regional developments
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani met his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty on Monday on the sidelines of the 166th Arab League ministerial session.
According to Syria’s Foreign Ministry, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two countries to support security and peace in the region.
They also reviewed key regional and international developments, the ministry said.
The 166th session’s agenda includes political, economic, social, cultural and legal issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and what the ministry described as “illegal Iranian attacks” against Arab countries.
The session also includes the appointment of heads of several permanent committees of the Arab League Council, elected on the sidelines of the meeting, including the Human Rights Committee, Meteorological Committee, Permanent Media Committee and International Humanitarian Law Committee.
The meeting will also address the appointment of judges to the Arab League Administrative Tribunal.
