Locals find body of drug trafficker in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Locals discovered on Wednesday the body of a drug dealer a day after his kidnapping in the eastern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press the deceased, identified as Osama Al-Jawabra was found with his hands bound near the town of al-Mleiha al-Sharqiyah in the northeast of Daraa.

The source added that al-Jawabra hails from the village of al-Dara in the west of Suwayda and was known for his involvement in drug trafficking.

He was found with a quantity of hashish beside his body. He was abducted by unidentified armed men while en route to Daraa the day before, according to the source.

A month earlier in the same town of al-Mleiha al-Sharqiyah, unknown gunmen shot to death a prominent drug trafficker involved in smuggling drugs into Jordan, according to sources.
