SDF captures 2 ISIS members in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Monday the capture of two members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
In a statement, the SDF said its Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) conducted an operation with the support the U.S.-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS targeting an ISIS cell in the town of Shuhail in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The operation resulted in the capture of two ISIS members, Muhammad Hassan Saleh al-Madad and Bashar Jaan al-Hamid.
The SDF added that the two captured were actively supplying ISIS with weapons and ammunition to carry out acts against both the SDF forces and civilians in the region.
During the operation, the SDF forces seized one smartphone, personal documents, one Glock pistol, one pistol quiver, and one Wi-Fi router.
On Sep 19, the SDF announced the capture of two ISIS militants in Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria.
