Government forces send more reinforcements to Aleppo northern countryside

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – For the third consecutive day, the government forces have sent new military reinforcements, under the protection of Russian aircraft, to the Menagh military Air Base in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

“The government forces brought in military reinforcements, including tanks, armored vehicles, rocket launchers, ammunition, and soldiers, for the third consecutive day to the Menagh military Air Base, adjacent to the town of Tal Rifaat,” eyewitnesses told North Press.

The military moves and reinforcements in the northern countryside of Aleppo come after the Turkish threats to launch a new military operation in northern Syria.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on May 23 that Turkey would launch a new military operation across its southern borders with Syria to create a safe zone.

“The reinforcements arrived at the villages of Hardatin, Kefin, and Mayer, north of Aleppo. They then deployed along the lines of contact with the areas controlled by the Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition factions (SNA),” the sources added.

The villages of Tel al-Madiq, Smouqa, Tel Qarah, Shawarga, Tanab, Hassajk, al-Shahba Dam, Tel Rifaat, Sheikh Issa, and the villages of Sherawa district in the northern countryside of Aleppo continue to witness military escalation and almost daily intense shelling by Turkish forces and the SNA.
