ISIS claims 2 attacks against SDF in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Islamic State organization (ISIS) claimed responsibility for two operations against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said in a statement ISIS militants targeted with machineguns a military convoy of the SDF carrying logistics equipment on its way to the al-Omar oil field, 35 kilometers from the town of al-Busayrah east of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack caused damage to a truck carrying logistic equipment and a 4WD vehicle, according to Amaq.
In another statement, it said the ISIS militants attacked an SDF checkpoint near the town of al-Sabha affiliated with al-Busayrah, leading to clashes with machineguns that resulted in the injury of an SDF fighter and the damaging of a vehicle near the checkpoint.
Since the beginning of 2023, the terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for five attacks against the SDF.
On Jan. 2, it claimed responsibility for three operations against the SDF in the countryside of both Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa.
