SDF reveals outcome of Turkish strike hit joint base with Coalition
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) –, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) revealed on Tuesday the outcome of a Turkish drone strike against a joint base it shares with the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in the northern countryside of Hasakah.
In a statement, the SDF Media Center said a Turkish drone struck the security section of a joint base with the Global Coalition.
The strike killed two fighters of the SDF’s Counter-Terrorism Units (YAT) and injured three others, two of them seriously, the statement said.
The base is located in north of Hasakah, nearly some 5 km distance from the Turkish border.
The statement added, “The anti-terrorism units (YAT) are responsible for countering the terrorist cells of ISIS, nevertheless; they have been targeted by the Turkish occupation over the last period.”
On July 22, a Turkish drone struck a car carrying YAT’s commanders Jian Tolhildan and Roj Khabur and YAT’s member Barin on a road near Qamishli city, northeastern Syria. All lost their lives.
Since November 19, Turkish forces have been frequently targeting all the border areas in northern Syria, extending from Afrin in the west up to Derik in the east.
