ISIS shot dead two SDF fighters in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, two fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) lost their lives in an attack by the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) on a checkpoint in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.  

Through media outlets close to it, ISIS claimed the responsibly for the killing of targeting two SDF fighters in an attack on their checkpoint in Sabha town 3 km east of Deir ez-Zor.

An SDF military source in the town said two fighters lost their lives gunmen who targeted al-Rayy checkpoint at the eastern entrance of the town. 

The fighters died after they were moved to get treatment in Jadid Bakara hospital 20 km east of Deir ez-Zor, the source added.

Following the incident, the SDF imposed a security cordon, and conducted patrols chasing the wanted in the neighborhoods.  

Recently, Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside has witnessed increasing of assassinating SDF fighters, Autonomous Administration employees, residents and tribes’ nobles despite the intense security operations of the SDF. 

Few days ago, the SDF captured two ISIS members in Mahmida town west of Deir ez-Zor.
