Turkey intensifies bombing northeast Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The cities of Derik, Manbij, Zargan (Abu Rasin) and villages in the vicinity of Ain Issa, in north and northeast Syria, were bombed with heavy weapons by Turkish forces on Wednesday.
The village of Ain Diwar in the countryside of Derik in the far northeast Syria, the villages of the countryside of Manbij and the villages of al-Asadiya, Dada Abdal and Rabi’at in the countryside of Zargan area were shelled by Turkey.
The residents of Ain Diwar village, on the Syrian-Turkish border, were displaced from their homes as a result of the Turkish bombing. The Turkish shelling also destroyed two houses as well, said North Press correspondent in Derik.
Three shells fell on a village in Ain Diwar and consequently two houses was caught fire. However, The firefighting teams managed to put out the fires in the two houses. Three shells also fell on the village’s canteen without causing any casualties, the correspondent added.
The Turkish bombing caused a mass displacement from the village, and some sheep breeders took their livestock with them while leaving the village.

Four civilians were wounded yesterday in a Turkish bombardment of a power station in the countryside of Derik, according to a medical source.
“The Turkish occupation army targeted the villages of al-Sayada and al-Yalinli in Manbij,” the media center of the Manbij Military Council said in a statement.
19 mortar and artillery shells were fired by the Turkish army, 14 of which fell on the village of al-Sayyada, and 5 shells in the village of al-Yalinli, according to the statement.
The Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions bombed the villages of Zenobia, Arida Avdoki, Hoshan Dibs, the silos and the M4 Highway in the countryside of Tel Abyad and the town of Ain Issa with heavy weapons, North Press correspondent in Ain Issa said.
