Ilham Ahmad calls on international community to end Turkish violations

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Ilham Ahmad, the President of the Executive Committee of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), called on the international community to put an end to Turkish violations against the Kurds and hold them accountable for their crimes.

Three people lost their lives yesterday, in an attack by a Turkish drone in al-Hilaliya neighborhood in the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria, according to a statement by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

Ilham Ahmad tweeted hour after the attack “Today the Turkish army committed a massacre resulted in the death of 3 civilians from the same family in Qamishli.”

The three victims were from the same family, Youssef Gulo, Mazloum Gulo, and Muhammad Gulo, according to the Asayish statement.

“Why the international community remains silent on crimes committed by Turkey. I call on all our friends to hold Turkey accountable for its war crimes,” she added.

In late October, the Euphrates Region Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) held the US-led Global Coalition and Russia responsible for the Turkish attacks on Kobani area, north Syria.

On October 23, Turkish drones targeted, for the second time during less than a week, a civil car in the city of Kobani.

In late September, Ahmad expressed the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) readiness to dialogue with Turkey and to resolve all disputes with it through peaceful means and dialogue.

She added during her visit to Washington that this is in exchange for ensuring the handling of issues related to the Kurdish people and the occupied Syrian territories by Turkey, such as Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), Tel Abyad and Afrin.
