Child Protection Office in northeast Syria organizes training course in Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press) – The Child Protection Office in Armed Conflicts in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) organized a training course for members of its offices in the city of Derik (al-Malikiyah) in far northeast Syria, on Sunday.

Head of the Child Protection Office in Deir ez-Zor Mohammad Shahada said that the purpose of this training course is the protection of children’s rights in armed conflicts.

The training course will last for four days, from Sunday until Wednesday.

“All the offices in northeast Syria participate in this training course in order to provide help for the children according to the international agreements regarding protecting children and also to provide them with help in northeast Syria,” Shahada added.

“After this course, we will work on protecting all children in northeast Syria.”

“The importance of this training is summarized in knowing the mechanism behind the international agreements on children recruited to military forces and the mechanism for supporting those children after leaving the military forces,” according to Shahada.
