ISIS claims killing of civilian in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, ISIS claimed responsibility for the killing of a civilian in a town east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, after kidnapping him upon charges of dealing with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
A source from the victim’s family from the al-Riz village of al-Busayrah, 35 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, said that the residents found the body of Ahmed al-Mi’lash near his house, on Monday, after gunmen wearing ISIS-style clothes kidnapped him from his house on Sunday-Monday night.
The gunmen drove al-Mi’lash to an unknown location around 200 meters from his house before shooting him several times on the head, the source added.
Al-Mi’lash was not affiliated with any political or military faction, according to residents of the town.
Recently, ISIS has intensified its military operations in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, targeting members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, tribal notables, and locals.
On June 20, people from the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor found a body of a young man near his place of work.
