Opposition members assassinated in Syria’s Jarablus
MANBAJ, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, unidentified individuals assassinated two members of the pro-Turkish armed opposition groups, in the city center of Jarablus, in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria.
One of those killed was Abu al-Harith Andan, a leader of an opposition group, while the other was a member from al-Shyoukh area, local sources said.
The incident took place while they were in a shop in Villat Street, in the city center.
The source added that a young man was run over by the assailants while fleeing from the crime scene.
Yesterday, two IEDs exploded in Jarablus, killing and wounding a number of people, where the explosive devices placed at the bottom of two cars belonging to Ahrar al-Sham group.
Turkish forces and its backed armed opposition groups have been running the city of Jarablus, near the Turkish border, since 2017.
During the opposition era, the area has been witnessing security chaos and frequent explosions in light of the opposition groups’ inability to settle the area.
