Government forces renew targeting of oppositionposts in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Syrian government forces renewed their shelling on the Syrian opposition groups’ fortifications in northwest Syria.
Government forces shelled military gatherings of the opposition in the towns of Sufohn and al-Fatirah, south Idlib, with artillery shells and rocket launchers, a military source told North Press.
The government shelling targeted opposition’s posts and fortifications in the villages and towns of al-Bara and Fleifel in Zawiya Mountain, south Idlib governorate, according to the source.
“The shelling coincided with intensive warplanes’ and drones’ flight over the area, reporting no civilian or military casualties,” the source added.
On Tuesday, Syrian government forces targeted the opposition groups stationed on the outskirts of Kafr Aweed town and the villages of Hantoteen, Sarjah, and Benin, south Idlib, with more than 200 artillery shells.
The areas of northwest Syria are included in the ceasefire agreement signed by Turkey and Russia last March after a military campaign in the region.
