Women in Syria’s northwest demonstrate against HTS to release detainees

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, dozens of women took part in a demonstration against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to release their relatives, who were detained in the latter’s prisons, in the town of al-Sahara in the western countryside of Aleppo, northwestern Syria.

“The women demonstrators demanded the release of their detained relatives, as the HTS had arrested them nearly eight months ago, without explaining the charges and the reasons,” field sources told North Press.

“The HTS security service worked to disperse the demonstration using violence and firing warning bullets at the demonstrators, without reports about casualties,” the sources added.

On March 7, a women’s demonstration took place in the town of Tal’ada, north of Idlib, during which the demonstrators demanded the release of the detainees.
