ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Monday, Yahya Rasoul, spokesperson of the Iraqi Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief announced the arrest of 6 ISIS members in Baghdad, al-Anbar and Sulaymaniyah governorates.
In a statement, Rasoul said that the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) managed to conduct a series of operations to pursue remnants of ISIS members, arresting “a terrorist in the Yarmouk neighborhood in Baghdad and two others in al-Anbar governorate.”
“The CTS had been able to arrest two wanted terrorists in coordination with Asayish forces in al-Sulaymaniyah governorate,” the statement added.
“The CTS ended these highly professional duties by carrying out a qualitative task in Fallujah that resulted in the arrest of an ISIS terrorist member, mounting the arrests to 6 members,” the statement noted.
On February 28, 9 ISIS members were arrested by the CTS in Baghdad, Kirkuk and al-Anbar.
