DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) was wounded due to an attack by unknown individuals in the town of Sabha, 30 east Deir ez-Zor, on Friday.
“Masked men, who were riding motorbikes, opened fire on an Asayish checkpoint at the crossroad of Sabha,” a military source told North Press.
“The Asayish cordoned off the area, as clashes took place between the Asayish and the unknowns for about 15 minutes, who fled after that,” the source added.
The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been recently witnessing an increase in the ISIS sleeper cells’ activities, where members of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria are being targeted.
