Russian patrol in northeast Syria’s Derik
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – The Russian Military Police conducted a patrol in the countryside of Derik, northeastern Syria, on Monday.
“The patrol consisted of six armored vehicles, in addition to two helicopters,” local sources told North Press.
“A Russian patrol arrived at the village of Kardamiyah this afternoon, and then turned back towards the western countryside,” the sources added.
On January 9, a Russian police patrol was stationed at the Roman Bridge, east of Derik.
The Russian Military Police have recently intensified its patrols in Derik, in an attempt to establish a military point in the area, amid protests by residents.
