IED detonation caused one death and many injured in Syria’s Azaz
AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, one person was killed and others were wounded, in the explosion of an IED placed in a car to distribute bread, in the center of the town of Sajoo in the countryside of Azaz, north of Aleppo.
The opposition-controlled areas in northwestern Syria are witnessing a security chaos accompanied by frequent bombings, amid the inability of the controlling Turkish-backed armed opposition groups to control security.
A private source told North Press that the explosion took place at the entrance to the vegetable market in the center of the town, killing one person and wounding eight civilians as a preliminary outcome, in addition to material damage to the place.
On December 29, 2020, A militant from the Turkish-backed Syrian armed opposition groups and his child and were seriously wounded when an IED planted in his car exploded in Soran city center south of Syria’s Azaz.
On December 18, 2020, two people were injured due to an IED explosion which was placed in a military vehicle of the Levant Front group in the Ma’batli town in Afrin region, north of Aleppo, northwest Syria.
Azaz has been under the control of the armed opposition groups since July 2020.
The areas held by the armed opposition groups have recently witnessed a series of successive bombings amid the inability of Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian groups to control security in the area.
