Yesterday after midnight, five members of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups, including a prominent commander, were killed as they attacked Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions and clashes erupted between the two sides in the countryside of Tal Abyad, in northern Syria.

A military source from the SDF told North-Press that the opposition groups attacked the village of Beilon in Tal Abyad's southern countryside after midnight on Sunday, to which the SDF retaliated and clashes erupted between them for about an hour.

"As a result of the clashes, five of the attacking militants were killed, including a prominent commander called Alaa al-Idlibi," the source added.

Furthermore, the military source said that Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition groups targeted the M4 highway and the village of Hoshan in the countryside of Ein Issa, as well as the villages of Sulaibi, Kor Hassan, and Qiz Ali in Tal Abyad countryside, indicating that the shelling continued until the early hours of this morning.

The M4 highway and the villages surrounding the town of Ein Issa are witnessing almost daily shelling by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups in recent times, causing injuries to dozens of locals and damage to civilians' properties.
