Turkish-backed armed opposition groups refuse the outcomes of Russian-Turkish agreement in Idlib

On Sunday, Turkish-backed armed opposition groups rejected all the outcomes of the Sochi, Moscow, Astana and Geneva meetings, the recent ceasefire agreement, and the conduct of joint Russian-Turkish patrols in Idlib.

The Wa Harid al-Mu'menin Operations Room, which includes many Turkish affiliated armed opposition groups, announced its rejection of the terms of the Russian-Turkish agreement, which led to a ceasefire in Idlib, and the conduct of joint patrols between the two sides. The statement said that they will continue fighting regardless of the consequences.

"It turned out that the promises made regarding detainees, humanitarian aid, and a political solution were nothing but a mirage and an illusion," the statement said, which coincided with the ninth anniversary of the outbreak of the protests in Syria.

It added: "Continuing to lean on the illusion of international understandings and the results of its conferences, of which Moscow will not be the last, sacrifices the revolution in favor of international interests."

Moreover, the Operations Room called on all families and fighters in “liberated areas" to embrace the option of fighting and reject "surrender solutions."

It is worth noting that the Wa Harid al-Mu'minin Operations Room was established on the 15th of November, 2018, and it consists of Hurras al-Din group, Ansar al-Din Front and Ansar al-Tawhid, Ansar al-Islam group, and several other Turkish-backed armed opposition groups.
