184 displaced families return to Syria’s Idlib

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Some 184 families living in camps in northern Syria returned on Thursday to their areas in southern Idlib countryside, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor said.

The ministry said the return was coordinated with Idlib Governorate, the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor, Muzn Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and the Directorate of Emergencies and Disasters.

Muhammad Yaziji, director of the media office at the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Idlib, said efforts were continuing to facilitate the voluntary return of displaced families.

The efforts aim to help displaced people return to their areas, support stability, and encourage humanitarian organizations to provide assistance through livelihood projects and improved health, education and water services, he said.

Yaziji said the efforts also seek to implement Decree No. 59 and reach what authorities have described as “zero tents.”
