QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A civilian from the southern countryside of Quneitra was wounded on Sunday after being shot by Israeli forces in the al-Raqqad Valley area west of Daraa governorate in southern Syria, according to a local source.
The source told North Press that Alaa Ahmad al-Khadr, a resident of al-Basali village in southern Quneitra countryside, was hit by Israeli gunfire while he was in the al-Raqqad Valley area.
The shooting resulted in injuries to his thigh and right arm, the source said.
According to the source, personnel from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) provided first aid to the wounded man before transferring him to Nawa Hospital in western Daraa countryside for further treatment.
The source added that Israeli soldiers positioned in the occupied Golan Heights frequently open fire toward residents in the area, with shepherds often among those affected.
No comment had been issued by the Syrian government regarding the incident as of the time of publication.
