Government security forces arrest 3 suspects in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Security forces of the Syrian transitional government arrested three individuals wanted on suspicion of carrying out attacks against government forces in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, a security source in Deir ez-Zor said on Saturday.
The source told North Press that security forces launched a security operation in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, resulting in the arrest of two suspects in the town of Baghuz and a third in the town of Susah.
According to the source, the detainees are suspected of involvement in attacks targeting government forces as well as civilian figures.
The security source added that the operation followed a recent increase in attacks across Deir ez-Zor countryside, including the assassination of a commander in the security forces in Baghuz.
He noted that the campaign remains ongoing and is aimed at pursuing additional suspects, with further details expected to be released at a later stage.
