Israeli forces set up temporary checkpoint in northern Quneitra
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces briefly advanced on Monday into the northern countryside of Quneitra governorate, establishing a temporary checkpoint on the Jbata al-Khashab–Ayn al-Bayda road, according to local sources.
A local source told North Press that Israeli soldiers stopped civilians and vehicles passing along the road, checked personal identification documents, and conducted searches of cars. The source added that soldiers asked residents questions related to their views and positions toward the Israeli army.
The source said the incursion lasted several hours before the Israeli forces redeployed from the area. No arrests or incidents of gunfire were reported during the operation.
There were no official statements from Israeli authorities regarding the purpose of the checkpoint or the scope of the operation. Syrian state media did not report the incident at the time of publication.
