Dozens of Syrian refugees return from Lebanon under organized plan
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of Syrian refugees returned from Lebanon on Thursday through the Masnaa border crossing, as part of the “third phase” of the Lebanese government’s plan for the organized return of Syrians to their country.
The Lebanese government announced the multi-phase plan in June, which includes registering names and providing buses to transport refugees back to Syria.
According to the plan, those opting for an unorganized return are responsible for setting their own departure date and securing transportation.
The process is carried out by the Lebanese government in coordination with Syrian authorities and with the participation of international and humanitarian organizations, including the UNHCR, IOM, the Lebanese Red Cross, and others.
