Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz tours Syrian side of Mount Hermon

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the Syrian side of Mount Hermon on Tuesday, meeting Israeli military commanders and troops stationed in the area, Israeli media reported.

Katz said Israeli forces would remain on Mount Hermon and in the security zone in southern Syria indefinitely, citing what he described as security threats to Israel. (Times of Israel⁠)

During the visit, Katz held a situational assessment with senior military officers and spoke with troops at an Israeli army post on the mountain, according to Israeli media. (Times of Israel⁠)
