Speaking at the opening of the Damascus International Fair on Wednesday, al-Saleh highlighted that more than five decades under the Assad regime, combined with 14 years of conflict, have left deep cracks in Syrian society, fueling tensions in several regions
He emphasized the importance of the state’s role in this stage, underscoring that it must take responsibility for all Syrians and guarantee their safety.
On recent events in Suwayda, al-Saleh called them deeply regrettable, stressing they should never have happened. He highlighted violations against civilians—both Druze and Bedouin—emphasizing the widespread pain these incidents caused
Al-Saleh voiced hope that the ‘new Syria’ will move forward, focusing on rebuilding social unity, fostering solidarity, and securing civil peace to enable future growth.
