Iran insists on uranium enrichment rights after U.S. strikes

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Tehran will continue enriching uranium, asserting that no one can impose dictates on Iran regarding its nuclear program, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, stated on Monday.

In remarks to Germany’s ARD television network, Takht-Ravanchi stated, “We will continue enrichment, and no one can dictate what we should or should not do.”

Ravanchi emphasized that uranium enrichment will proceed within the framework of Iran’s obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

His comments came a day after the United States launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities located in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

In a related development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, currently in Moscow, announced that Tehran and Moscow are closely coordinating their positions in response to the escalating situation in the Middle East.

Speaking to reporters, Araghchi stated that the current regional developments require serious and strategic consultations with Russia, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, declared that Iran reserves the right to defend itself against what he described as U.S. and Israeli aggression.
