AANES demands intl. investigation into Turkey’s “massacres” in Kobani
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on Monday for an international investigation into what it described as “massacres committed by the Turkish state,” following a deadly drone strike that killed nine family members and injured two others in the Kobani countryside, northern Syria.
In an official statement, the AANES asserted that the massacre in the countryside of Kobani is not the first atrocity committed by Turkey, carried out in full view of international organizations and the global community, who remain silent and inactive.
The AANES urged the international community, including all relevant institutions and the Global Coalition, to take a clear stance on these attacks and “break their silence.”
Additionally, the statement called for an international investigation into the incident and demanded that cases of massacres and war crimes committed by Turkey be referred to the International Criminal Court.
Early on Monday, a Turkish drone strike targeted a village south of Kobani, killing nine members of the same family—including women and children—and injuring a girl and a young woman.
