Turkish airstrike kills 9 family members in Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A Turkish airstrike killed early on Monday nine members of a single family in the countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.

The Turkish drone strike targeted Qomji village, south of Kobani, killing nine family members, including women and children, and injuring two others, a young woman and a girl.

A local source told North Press that the drone struck a farm where the family, originally from the village of Kirk, worked. The father had been employed there as a watchman.

The victims of the attack were identified as Ahin, Dijla, Delovan, Yasser, Aziza, Salha, and Avista, along with their parents, Othman Barkal Abdo and Ghazala Osman Abdo.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Ronida Othman Abdo and 9-year-old Narin Othman Abdo sustained injuries.

According to the source, Ronida suffered severe wounds and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at al-Amal Hospital in Kobani.
