EU delegation discusses sanctions with Syrian officials
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Finance Minister in the caretaker government, Mohammad Aba Zaid, met on Wednesday with a delegation from the European Union at the ministry’s headquarters to discuss the potential lifting of financial sanctions on Syria.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the ministry, where Aba Zaid welcomed the EU delegation.
During the meeting, Aba Zaid called for lifting sanctions imposed on Syria, noting to the negative impacts of the sanctions on the Syrian people and the national economy.
Earlier on Wednesday, Aba Zaid received Germany’s acting Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, Björn Gehrmann, in Damascus and discussed the potential lifting of financial sanctions on Syria.
