QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), General Mazloum Abdi, expressed on Monday his appreciation for Germany’s support of the SDF and its vision for a democratic and inclusive Syria.
In a tweet shared on the platform X in Arabic, General Abdi emphasized the value of Germany’s stance in supporting the Syrian people’s aspirations for a state founded on freedom, democracy, and equality.
He highlighted the importance of ensuring all components of Syrian society participate in governing the country.
“I greatly appreciate Germany’s role in supporting our efforts in combating terrorism and extremism to build a brighter future for all Syrians,” Abdi added.
The statement followed Abdi’s meeting with Tobias Tunkel, Middle East and North Africa Director at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, on Sunday in Northeast Syria. The meeting addressed urgent issues, including Kurdish rights in Syria.
