New Syria to have good regional, global relations – al-Shibani

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Minister of Foreign Relations in the Syrian caretaker government Asaad al-Shibani emphasized on Sunday that “New Syria will foster positive and balanced relationships with its Arab, regional, and international surroundings.”

Speaking at a press conference following a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha, al-Shibani underlined Syria’s commitment to peace and cooperation, distancing itself from the strained regional relations of the previous regime.

Al-Shibani stressed that his government seeks to repair Syria’s ties with the Arab world and the broader international community in a manner that promotes stability and development for the country.

The minister described the discussions in Doha as in-depth and comprehensive, covering key strategic issues.

He also presented Syria’s roadmap for reconstruction, ensuring civil rights for its citizens, and forming a government that represents all segments of the Syrian population.

Earlier today, al-Shibani arrived in Doha for his first official visit, leading a high-level delegation that included Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and General Intelligence Chief Anas Khattab.
