Israeli airstrikes hit military sites in south, central Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes hit early on Saturday military sites in central and southern Syria, state media reported.

Syria’s state-run news agency SANA said that Syrian air defenses managed to intercept some of the missiles launched by Israel from the Golan Heights and Lebanon.

SANA also reported explosions near Damascus, the capital of Syria.

Israel has been conducting attacks on targets in Syria that are connected to Iran for several years. However, since the attack by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has increased the frequency of these strikes.

On Oct. 24, Israeli airstrikes targeted two military point in the Kafr Souseh neighborhood and another in the countryside of Homs, killing one soldier, state media reported.
