YPJ meets women from Coalition in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) met on Wednesday with a number of women from the U.S.-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Northeast Syria.

During the meeting, the YPJ, an all-female armed group affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), emphasized on its experiences and achievements.

The YPJ also noted to the importance of self-defense and the role of women in protecting communities, according to the YPJ official website.

Both sides discussed the ongoing fight against ISIS and the broader security situation in the region, agreeing that the efforts should proceed with steady, cautious progress to ensure stability.
