U.S. airstrikes target ISIS camps in Syria, disrupt planned attacks
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces conducted on Friday a series of airstrikes against multiple ISIS camps in Syria.
The CENTCOM said the targeted strikes aim to disrupt the group’s ability to plan, organize, and execute attacks against the U.S., its allies, and civilians in the region and beyond.
According to initial reports, no civilian casualties have been identified.
The CENTCOM added that battle damage assessments are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Founded on Jan. 1, 1983, the CENTCOM involved in the Syrian crisis in 2014 when ISIS controlled large parts of Syria prompting the U.S. and its allies to intervene.
It led the Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) and supported the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) where they managed to achieve the territorial defeat of ISIS.
