Turkish forces target villages in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces launched on Monday a barrage of artillery and mortar fire on several villages in the countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.
The Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said that the Turkish forces, along with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), heavily shelled villages in the northwestern countryside of the city of Manbij using dozens of artillery and mortar rounds.
In a statement published on its official website, the Council added that the Turkish forces and the SNA factions targeted the villages of Sayada, Umm Adasa, and Umm Jloud, where a total of 31 shells were recorded.
The Military Council added that the Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions extended their shelling to villages in the southern countryside of Manbij, including al-Jarad, with similar heavy weaponry.
As of now, the council has not released information regarding potential casualties or material damage resulting from the attacks.
