ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian government forces deployed on Sunday a large military convoy to the front lines against Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), in the countryside of Aleppo in northwestern Syria.
An opposition military source told North Press on Monday that the convoy consisted of around 40 military vehicles, including armored units, heading toward Base 46, the villages of Kafr Halab, Miznaz, and Urum al-Kubrah in the western countryside of Aleppo.
The forces reportedly affiliated with the Fourth Division, Division 25, and the Russian-backed Fifth Corps, and include five tanks, three artillery pieces, and approximately 150 soldiers.
Additionally, a source in the SNA confirmed to North Press that a military-security meeting was held on Sunday in Gaziantep Airport.
The meeting involved Turkish military officials alongside leaders from the SNA and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, once known as al-Nusra Front) to discuss the possibility of a military operation.
The source indicated that this was the second such meeting in the past 15 days, with another expected in the coming days to continue discussions on the same matter.
