Israeli airstrikes hit military targets in central Syria
HOMS, Syria (North Press) – A Syrian military source confirmed on Sunday evening that multiple military sites in central Syria sustained material damage following Israeli airstrikes.
According to a statement provided to the state-run SANA news agency, the strikes occurred at approximately 5:20 PM and were launched from northern Lebanon.
The Israeli airstrikes specifically targeted several military positions of the Syrian government forces in Homs and Hama governorates.
The military official acknowledged that the attack resulted in “material losses” at the affected sites, but did not elaborate further on the extent of the damage.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel had carried out similar strikes on weapons depots and missile storage facilities in the countryside of Hama and Homs, key strategic locations in central Syria.
Local sources informed North Press that Israeli warplanes struck facilities used by the government forces in the villages of Shtai and Shinshar in the southern countryside of Homs.
Additionally, the sources reported that the Israeli forces also targeted weapons storage sites in Tel Shnan and areas west of the city of Salamiyah in the eastern countryside of Hama.
