Israeli airstrikes kill 3 people in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes killed on Tuesday three people in the Syrian capital Damascus, state media reported.

Syria’s state-run news agency SANA said the airstrikes targeted the Mezzeh neighborhood and resulted in the killing of three civilians and the injury of nine others.

SANA added that around 02:05 AM Syrian air defenses intercepted rockets and drones around the capital, adding that the attacks caused fires and significant damage to civilian property.

A source told North Press that Syrian journalist Safaa Ahmad was killed as she was reportedly accompanying one of the individuals targeted in the attack.

This strike occurred in parallel with an Israeli incursion into Lebanon, where a limited ground operation was launched against Hezbollah positions, amidst intensified aerial bombardments that have been ongoing for over a week.
