Government forces kill 2 HTS militants in Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Syrian government forces launched on Monday a series of attacks on Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, once known as al-Nusra Front) positions across multiple regions, including Idlib and Aleppo in Northwest Syria, and Hama in central Syria.
North Press correspondent cited an HTS military source as saying that 11 drones struck HTS positions in the town of al-Bara and the village of Majdaliya in the eastern countryside of Idlib, causing casualties among HTS militants.
Additionally, the government forces targeted the village of Kherbet al-Naqus, west of Hama, killing two HTS militants. Further drone strikes were reported in the villages of Kafr Nouran and Kafr Taal, west of Aleppo, where a militant from the HTS-affiliated Zubair bin al-Awwam Brigade was killed, and three others were wounded.
The correspondent noted that these escalations coincide with mutual artillery exchanges between both sides of the conflict on multiple fronts, including the western countryside of Aleppo, Taftanaz and al-Nayrab in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and areas in the northern countryside of Latakia, western Syria.
