Turkish strikes target civilian facilities in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, several sites in the city of Kobani, northern Syria, and its countryside were targeted by Turkish warplanes and artillery, including a clinic supported by Médecins du Monde (MDM) Organization
North Press correspondent in Kobani reported that Turkish bombardment targeted the clinic with several shells, causing extensive damage to many rooms.
He added that the Turkish airstrikes targeted a privately-owned animal feed factory near the village of Termeek, south of Kobani, resulting in material damage to the factory.
Similarly, a car repair shop in the city was targeted, causing material damage.
On Monday morning, two workers were injured in a Turkish airstrike of a parking garage south of Kobani. They were transferred to a hospital in the city for treatment.
In a statement, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on the international community, human rights organizations, and humanitarian organizations to take action to curb the Turkish attacks.
The statement emphasized that the Turkish practices are a blatant violation of international treaties and conventions, adding that they violate the international humanitarian law and amount to war crimes.
