Protesters shut down SNC office in Syria’s Azaz

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the protestors in the city of Azaz, northern Aleppo, north Syria, stormed and shut down the office of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), affiliated with the Syrian opposition.

According to a local source, the protesters forcefully removed the employees from the building and subsequently closed it down.

The source added that the protesters “removed the coalition’s logo from the facade of the building and wrote phrases on the walls accusing the coalition’s officials of treason, particularly the new president, Hadi al-Bahra.”

The protest comes one week after the election of Hadi al-Bahra as the new president of the coalition, replacing Salem al-Meslet. The election process itself witnessed disputes and disagreements within the coalition.

In mid-September, lawyers in the city of Azaz demanded the removal of Hadi al-Bahra.
