Jubur tribe to storm government headquarters in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Tensions have resurfaced in the city of Hasakah on Tuesday, as Jubur tribe has deployed armed people to launch an attack on the government headquarters within the city. This action follows the government’s failure to honor its agreement with the tribe.

Eyewitnesses from the city told North Press that the tribe is mobilizing more gunmen from villages and cities of southern Hasakah to storm the headquarters.

Local sources told North Press that the resurfacing of tensions is attributed to the government’s failure to fulfill its promises of either removing or surrendering the commander of National Defense Forces, Abdulqader Hamo, to the tribe.

“The tribe has issued a deadline until this evening for the government forces to fulfill the agreed-upon measures. Currently, they have encircled the government forces, and gunfire has been reported,” according to the same sources,

Reportedly, there had been clashes by firearms between the Jubur members and the National Defense forces near Tel Hajar bus terminus, resulting in injuries.

Meanwhile, the mobilization of the tribe members continues, with additional reinforcements arriving from the towns of Tel Brak and Shadadi, as well as other affiliated villages in the outskirts of Hasakah and the city of Qamishli. These reinforcements have been deployed to bolster their forces in anticipation of potential intense clashes.
