SNA factions arrest demonstrators in Syria’s Azaz
AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday evening, the Turkish-backed Military Police (MP) arrested five people on charges of participating in a demonstration against the local council in the village of Kafr Kalbin in Azaz countryside, north of Aleppo.
The Military Police, a branch of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), raided the houses of five people in the village, arrested them, and transferred them to Kaljibrin town prison, east of the city, on charges of protesting against the local council in the village, an exclusive source told North Press.
The source added that the residents of the village gave the director of the Kaljibrin police station three days to release the detainees, amid a threat to continue the demonstration until overthrowing the local council in the village.
On April 26, the village of Kafr Kalbin witnessed a state of anger among the residents because of the corruption of the local council and its failure to serve the village.
Since July 2012, Azaz and its countryside have been under the control of the Turkish-backed factions.
Areas held by the Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions, witness security chaos, including arrests, kidnappings, thefts, fighting and successive murders in light of the factions’ disability to maintain security.
