Aleppo airport to resume flights on Friday
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Transportation announced on Thursday that Aleppo International Airport would resume operations on Friday morning, March 10.
On Tuesday, Israel launched several airstrikes against Aleppo International Airport, putting it out of service. The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria said the attack was carried out by four Israeli F-16 fighter jets. An Israeli research center said the assault may have targeted Iranian positions at the Nayrab military compound, just south of the main airport terminal.
The ministry said in a statement that the officers of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, in cooperation with national companies, managed to repair the damage caused by the Israeli airstrikes.
The transportation ministry called for airlines to re-schedule their flights. It also added that the airport is ready to receive aid planes for earthquake-affected people.
