Aleppo countryside witnesses protests against Syrian-Turkish normalization
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Dozens of protesters took to streets in the northern countryside of Aleppo against Syrian-Turkish normalization and Turkey’s efforts towards reconciliation between the government and the Syrian opposition.
An exclusive source told North Press that dozens of protesters shouted slogans, expressing rejection of the reconciliation with the government.
The source added that the protesters expelled President of the opposition Syrian National Coalition (SNC), Salem al-Meslet, and his escorts from a yard where protests were continuing and described them as “Shabiha” [state sponsored mercenaries of the Syrian government.]
This took place after calls for organizing protests in several areas in Aleppo countryside, according to the source.
Cities and towns under the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), in Aleppo northern countryside have been witnessing protests for weeks under the name of “We will not reconcile.”
