Turkey deports 18.844 Syrian refugees in 2022
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Bab al-Hawa administration on the Syrian-Turkish border, north of Idlib, revealed on Tuesday the number of Syrian refugees deported to Syrian territory from Turkey in December 2022.
The crossing administration, on its official Facebook account, said the number of Syrian refugees deported from Turkey to Syria during December 2022 reached 1.504.
The figure is the highest in the last three months of 2022, according to the administration.
It added that 1.167 Syrians were deported in November 2022, the lowest monthly toll since the beginning of the year.
Turkey deported about 18.844 Syrian refugees in 2022, according to exclusive statistics obtained by North Press from the crossing administration.
Turkish authorities continue to deport Syrians to areas held by Turkish-backed armed Syrian opposition factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), in Aleppo northern countryside under pretexts of offending refuge regulations and non-obtaining the Kimlik (temporary ID card).
